United Way Lends Support after Devastating Earthquake in Haiti
United Way Worldwide's members in the Caribbean region have mobilized their staff, volunteer leaders, partners and resources in response to this disaster, and will help to determine the most pressing long-term recovery needs, such as access to health care, rebuilding schools and housing, and meeting critical basic needs for shelter, food and clothing.
United Way is accepting online donations to its United Way Worldwide Disaster Fund which will directly benefit relief efforts in Haiti. Gifts to the Disaster Fund support recovery and long-term rebuilding needs of the devastated Haitian communities. You may also text HAITI to 864833 to donate $5 to United Way Worldwide’s Haitian relief effort. |

Over $200,000 worth of space heaters will be keeping people warm this winter, thanks to a generous donation from GE Appliances & Lighting. In response to the recent record cold streak, Metro United Way worked with local agencies to find people who would most benefit from the 4,600 donated heaters.
